B717 Insurance Law

Description This course is concerned with the legal problems that arise between insurance companies and their customers, concentrating on those situations in which insurance companies refuse to pay claims. Coverage includes the company's duty of good faith and fair dealing, misrepresentations and breaches of policy conditions by the insured, insurance contract interpretation, the requirement of an insurable interest, payment of proceeds among several claimants, and scope of insurance coverage. (2 cr.)
